Wilma "Jean" (DaVault) Schroeder, 92, was reunited with her husband and daughter on Wednesday, December 16, 2020. Jean was a wonderful wife and mother, but was also widely known throughout her life for her fine soprano voice.

She graduated from F.J. Reitz High School in 1946 and briefly attended classes at ISU before returning to Evansville to work for Mead Johnson as a corresponding secretary. She was married to Raymond Schroeder for 65 years prior to his death in 2014.

Jean was a dedicated member of Zoar United Church of Christ, singing in and directing church choirs and teaching Sunday School for the pre-school age kids. She taught Sunday School for 50 years. She sang in the Posey County Women's Home-Economics Chorus and then in the Vanderburgh County Chorus for many years. After two decades as a homemaker, Jean returned to the workforce as a clerk and secretary for the German Township Water District. In retirement, she and her husband volunteered at the United Caring Shelter.
