Tommie Louise Reno Walker, age 82, of Knoxville, TN went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 18, 2020. She was a member of Concord United Methodist Church. She was a retired R.N. and spent most of her nursing career at East Tennessee Baptist Hospital as a nursing instructor and hospital supervisor. She graduated from Fulton High School and St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing and worked five years in the emergency room before going to Baptist to teach nursing. She earned a B.S. in Education from the University of Tennessee and sixteen hours towards a Master's Degree in nursing. She was one of two persons to be elected to the Knoxville City Board of Education and the Knox County Board of Education before they merged into one school system. After retirement from Baptist, she started the Health Science and Technology Program at Fulton High School and taught it for five years before retirement. She was chosen as a member of the Fulton High School Hall of Fame.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Edward and Maggie "Peggy" Louisa Long Reno.

She is survived by her husband, Benny Earl Walker; sons, Joseph Earl Walker (wife Pamela), Benjamin Andrew Walker (wife Angela), Rev. John Franklin (wife Anne); eight grandchildren; two step grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Concord United Methodist Church or The American Heart Association.

Family and friends will meet at 10:45am on Saturday, January 9th at Greenwood Cemetery for a graveside service at 11:00am with Rev. John Walker officiating.
