Frieda Courin Templin was born in Strasburg, Germany. The city reverted to France after WWI and is now known as Strasbourg, Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France . She immigrated from Germany to Philadelphia, PA. on 25 Jun 1914 aboard the S.S. Chemnitz. She became a naturalized citizen in Shreveport, Caddo Parish, Louisiana.

She married Earl Ervin Sutton on 1 Sept 1928 in Rosebud, Falls County, Texas. Their marriage license was issued in adjoining Milam County, Texas. They were the parents of ten children before their marriage ended in divorce.

SHREVEPORT -- Services for Mrs. Freda Templin Sutton, 78, of Shreveport, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday January 11 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel, The Rev. Fisk Roy, associate pastor of Willow Point Baptist Church, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Benny Bond, pastor of the church. Burial will be at Forest Park West Cemetery.

Mrs. Sutton died Saturday January 9, 1988, at Willis-Knighton Medical Center after a sudden illness. She was born in Strausburg, Germany and had been a resident of Shreveport most of her life. Mrs. Sutton was a retired L.P.N. and a member of the Willow Point Baptist Church.

Mr. [sic. Mrs.] Sutton was preceded in death by two sons, Johnny Mack Sutton and Earl F. Sutton.

She is survived by four sons, Jack D. Sutton and Bobby D. Sutton, of Shreveport, Charles E. Sutton of Ruston, La. and Jerry D. Sutton of Virginia Beach, Va.; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Anderson and Mrs. Doris Williams, of Shreveport, Mrs. Jan Rosett of Houma, La., Mrs. Ginger Belello of Baton Rouge, La.; six brothers, John Templin of Shreveport, Fritz Templin of Brownwood, Texas, Willie Templin of West Lake, Oregon, Albert Templin and Robert Lee Templin, of Cameron, Texas and Paul Templin of Brownwood, Texas; 23 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Stephen D. Sutton, Bobby Sutton, Jr., John Sutton, Jack Suton[ sic. Sutton], Jr. and David Anderson; and sons-in-law, O.B. Williams, Jr., Charles R. Anderson and James E. Rosett.
