Obituary
Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Eric immigrated to Los Angeles with his family just before his 16th birthday.
He is preceded in death by his parents John and Margaret Hunter and 4 sisters Rita, Isabel, Joan Marie Webb and Myra Gomez.
He is survived by his loving family which includes his wife of 31 years Joanne, daughter Catherine Kimble, 2 sons John Hunter and Larry Confer plus two step-children Jon LeVee and Jodi Bodenman. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews who thought of him as a father.
Eric was a Master Gardener who dearly loved his garden, especially roses. He was past President of the Kitsap County Rose Society serving as president for over 5 years and received several awards including a Life Membership for himself and Joanne. He was also a member of the Central Valley Garden Club and had been a member of the Dahlia Club for many years. Becoming legally blind 17 years ago, he was very active in the Peninsula Council of the Blind serving as President and Vice President and the Washington Council of the Blind serving as Treasurer for over 8 years.
Eric became a Mason in early 1984 and served as Worshipful Master of Lakeside Lodge #258 in Redmond, Washington from 1989 to 1990 and Worshipful Master of William H. Upton Naval and Military Lodge #206 from 1994 to 1995.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 17th at 4pm at the William H. Upton Lodge in Bremerton.
