Thomas M. DuBois, 87, formerly of Kickapoo, passed away at 7:15 p.m. Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Bickford Cottage of Peoria.

Tom was born September 17, 1933 in Princeville, son of Frank and Agnes (Sheppard) DuBois. They both preceded him in death, as well as his step-mother, who raised him, Julia (Noonen) DuBois. He married Lois J. Burdette on July 3, 1954 in Peoria. She passed away on February 26, 2016.

Surviving are their children, Paula (John) Dietrich of Chillicothe, Pattie (Ron) Weaver of Warsaw, IN, Thomas (Mary) DuBois of E. Peoria, Jerry (Sue) DuBois of Morton, and Peggie (Mark) Sanders of Peoria; twelve grandchildren, Brian (Misty) Dietrich, Brad (Jenny) Dietrich, Rod (Jessica) Weaver, Ross (Liz) Weaver, Ryan Weaver, Chelsea (Dan) McCormick, Lindsay (Donovan) LeMay, Tony (Elizabeth) DuBois, Jami (Matt) McClain, Audrey Sanders, Melissa Sanders, and Kelly Sanders; 10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Kathleen Ricca of Fishers, IN and Margie (Allen) Keegan of Rockton. He is also preceded in death by two brothers and one great-granddaughter.

Tom and Lois were honored as the longest living married couple in Kickapoo. He served in the United States Army and retired from CILCO as a substation supervisor after 41 years of employment. He was a very devout member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and School in Kickapoo, where he was a very active member, including usher, parish committee member, groundskeeper, building maintenance and Men's Club. Tom was a groundskeeper at St Patrick's Cemetery in Kickapoo, a life-long member of Knights of Columbus Bishop Rossetti Council, recipient of Night of Knights Award, Diocese of Peoria Pere Marquette Award, volunteer and donor for the Red Cross and President of Te-Deum. He loved woodworking, attending his grandchildren’s activities, the St Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Bears.

Tom’s service and burial will be private at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Kickapoo.
