Garlyn DeLoris Saldausky, 93, of Fostoria, passed away 1:52 pm, on Thursday, December 17, 2020, at Independence House, in Fostoria.
She was born August 29, 1927, in Fostoria, to the late Frank Leo and Alta Mae (Paugh) Rader. She married William Saldausky on July 13, 1956, in Angola, Indiana, and he preceded her in death on February 18, 2006.
Surviving Garlyn are her sons, Donald J. (Sue) Riser II, of Bowling Green, and William Bradley Saldausky, of Ft. Meyers, FLa.; grandchildren, Dawn (Ryan Brown) Riser, Tim (Heather) Yarger, and Amber Riser; nine great-grandchildren; and sister, Phyllis Richards, of Fostoria.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Cozetta Daring and La Donna Arnold, and a grandson, Derrick Riser.
Garlyn was a Fostoria High School graduate where she was in the honor society. She was a member of High Street United Methodist Church, the Eastern Star Chapter # 94, Fostoria, the American Legion and the VFW Ladies Auxiliaries. She was an escort for JB tours’ bus trips, and in her leisure enjoyed playing cards and going to Las Vegas; in her earlier years she enjoyed reading. She retired from Excello after 30+ years of service.
A walk through visitation will be from 10 am until 12 noon on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at Mann-Hare-Hoening Funeral Home. 407 N. Countyline St., Fostoria. Services will begin at noon, in the funeral home, Pastor Jim Sharrett, presiding. Burial will follow in Fountain Cemetery, in Fostoria.
