Mrs. Rhodes was born on December 27, 1936 in St. Albans, WV a daughter of the late Samuel T. Miller and Elizabeth Greer Miller. A self-proclaimed “army brat”, moving every few years and living overseas in Okinawa, she was happy to be a stay-at-home mom, raising eight children. She was a dedicated wife and mother, and excelled in her role as a homemaker. She was creative and very talented with a needle, sewing numerous outfits for her children and grandchildren, sewing for the home, smocking dresses, quilting, crocheting and other needlework. She loved antique furniture and delighted in refinishing and restoring pieces she picked up in second hand stores. She enjoyed reading, listening to a wide variety of music, Neil Diamond being her favorite, and was a whiz at Jeopardy. She will always be fondly remembered for her wonderful homemade pizza and many other favorite dishes she lovingly prepared. She was a member of the Quinby Garden Club, Quinby Coffee Group, former member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Florence and current member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Columbia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of fifty years, Thomas Leo Rhodes; siblings, Howard Miller, Dwight Miller, and Pamela Miller McReynolds.
