Mary A. Brucato, 72, of Norwalk died June 23 at her home.
Born in Stamford on Aug. 24, 1933, she was the daughter of John and Jeanette Abbiati Brucato. She graduated from the American School for the Deaf in West Hartford, where she excelled in sports activities. For 35 years, she worked in the sewing department of Stamford Hospital before retiring in 1995. She moved to Norwalk from Stamford eight years ago. She loved the beach and was an avid Yankees fan.
She is survived by a sister, Barbara Brucato LiVolsi, and her husband, William S. LiVolsi, of Norwalk, and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph C. and Rudolph Brucato.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place Wednesday at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Stamford. Interment followed in St. John's Cemetery, 25 Camp Ave., Darien. The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, was in charge of the arrangements.
