Mr. Johnnie Lee Davis was born November 4, 1925 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Mrs. Theresa Mills and the late Mr. Thurman Davis Sr.

Mr. Davis received his education from the Duval County Schools and later served in the U. S. Navy where he received an honorable discharge. Johnnie was employed with Ed Hall & Steel as a painter and driver where he later retired. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church under the Pastor Rev. Jones and Rev. Mathis.

A beautiful life of 94 years ended on July 12, 2020. He leaves to cherish his loving memories daughters: Dorothy Lee Wilson (Willie Wilson – deceased), Lorraine D. Fulton (Robert), Lahoma A. Davis; sons: Thurman Davis (Tracy), Gregory Washington (Barbara), Vincent Washington, Eugene Davis (Tracy), Purcell Davis (Gina), Michael Lee & Willie Washington (Hazel) of New Jersey; grands: Eugene Jones, Gregory Washington Jr. (Millie), Toccara J. Washington, Thomas Blocker, Anthony Jones, Shelton Davis, Purcell Baver Jr., and Jermaine Davis,Anthony Baver, Jada Davis, Anthony Clark; a host great grands and friends: Ronnie Lee, Dennis, Jenifer (Neen), Gwendlyn his sitter, special thanks to his nurse Breget, Tamika & Harrison.

Mr. Davis may be viewed Friday, July 24, 2020 at Carthage Chapel from 2:00 p.m. Until 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 25, 2020, at Carthage Chapel Funeral Home , 929 West Beaver Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32204 and the interment will be 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
