Green Bay - Maria Clara (Costa) Miller, 88, Green Bay passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020. Maria was born on August 17, 1932, in Guantanamo, Cuba the daughter of the now late Miguel Costa Y Mari and Herminia Santos Enriques. Maria met the love of her life Milton Miller, while he was stationed at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba serving in the U.S. Navy and they were joined in marriage on June 12, 1954. The couple enjoyed over 57 years together, Milt preceded her in death on August 9, 2011. Maria loved spending time outdoors, especially camping at their seasonal spot at Holtwood Campground in Oconto. Maria and Milt loved their winter home get-away down in Texas. She was an excellent cook and not only mastered Cuban recipes but was very adept at cooking American dishes. Maria was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, a friend to many and will always be lovingly remembered and sorrowfully missed.
Maria is survived by her children: Michael (Christina) Miller, Scot (Lynn) Miller, Mark (Vicky) Miller, Debbie Pahl, William (Julie) Miller, Cathy Miller and her fiancé: Arnold, 13 grandchildren: Jason (Dina) Miller, Amanda (Neil) Jauquet, Dan Miller, Dawn (Chris) Nelson, Kyle Miller (Jade VanGheem), Danielle (Adam) Wimberly, Jordan Pahl. Sarah Pahl, Brooke (Cameron) Spinler, Jeremiah Skalecki, Kayla and Karly Miller, Arnold Joseph "AJ" Moize, 15 great-grandchildren, her step-mother-in-law: Stella McMonagle. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a special granddaughter: Christine Miller-Shelby, one sister and brother-in-law: Ana Costa and Manuel Cuenca
Gathering of family and friends will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 14, 2020 at First United Presbyterian, 605 N Webster Avenue, De Pere. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Luke Farwell officiating. Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Allouez. In lieu of flowers a Memorial Fund has been established in her name. The family would like to offer a very special and heart felt thank you to their sister, Deb for always looking out for mom with all of the special things you did~ Mom always appreciated your love and concern. Also, a warm note of appreciation to Deacons Bonnie LeMense and Marilyn Kabat for all of your care and visits.
