John M. "Butch" McGovern Sr., 80, of Plum, formerly of Morningside, passed away peacefully with his wife at his side Thursday, Dec. 17, 2020.
He was the beloved husband for 59 years of Mary Alice (O'Connor) McGovern; loving father of Sharon (Scott) Fink and John (Donna) McGovern Jr.; grandfather of Brandon Fink (Lauren Ali), Brittany (Michael) Kepple and Alyssa (Andrew) Stewart; great-grandfather of Sadie, Arianna and Callie Grace; step-grandfather of Stephanie, T. J., Zachary and Tyler; brother of Wayne (Barbara) McGovern and Karen (David) Smith; brother-in-law of Michael (Jean) O'Connor, Gerald (Susan) O'Connor and the late Richard (late Mary Jane) O'Connor; and is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Friends were received at MAURICE L. KNEE LTD. FUNERAL HOME, 7663 Saltsburg Road (across from S&T Bank) Plum, PA 15239, where a blessing service was held at 11 a.m. Monday. Entombment followed in Good Shepherd Cemetery.
