Marjorie S. Payne, 72, of Lewistown, passed away peacefully, Monday, Dec. 14, 2020, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital, after COVID-19 complicated her long battle with lymphoma and kidney failure.

Born April 30, 1948, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Edna (Yoder) Fetters.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: husband, John T. Payne, whom she married July 8, 1989, on July 3, 1999; brother, John Fetters; nephew, Albert “Tim” Ronald Fetters Jr.; niece, Kathryn Fetters; great-nephew, Brayden Fetters; brother-in-law, Walter Michael Sr.; sister-in-law, Sharon (Wert) Fetters; and niece-in-law, Megan (Lash) Weaver.

Marjorie is survived by: sisters, Connie Bishop and husband, Paul, of Lewistown, Linda Jane Michael, widow of the late Walter Michael Sr., of McClure, and Dorothy Weaver and husband, Enos, of Lewistown; brothers, Albert Ronald Fetters and wife, Joan, and Jim Fetters and wife, Shirley, both of Lewistown; foster brother, David Baumgardner, of Lewistown; three nieces; 10 nephews; seven great-nieces; 13 great-nephews; seven great-great nieces; nine great-great nephews; numerous cousins; and good friend, Don Van Horn, of McAlisterville.

She was a member of Lewistown Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.

Marjorie was a beautician at her sister Connie’s beauty shop in Lewistown for many years. While living in Crawfordsville, Ind., she worked at a day care center and was a foster parent.

She loved arts and crafts, puzzles, square dancing, butterflies and flowers. Although she had no children of her own, she was a mother to everyone she met. A kind and gentle soul, our dear Aunt Margie will forever live in our hearts and memories. We find comfort in knowing that our loss is Heaven’s great gain.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 21, 2020, at Mount Rock Cemetery, Oakland Ave., Lewistown, with Pastor Neil Breneman officiating.

Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.

The family wishes to thank Marjorie’s PRN medical staffing aides and the ICU staff at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital for making her comfortable and staying with her until the end.
