Nancy Beasley was the only daughter and middle child of Robert Hewett and Ann Elizabeth (Betty) Johnston Beasley. She was born in Baltimore and moved to Pinehurst in 1951. At age 12 she was the youngest student at the Maryland Institute School of Art where she studied sculpture. She left the Maryland Institute because she was only interested in sculpting horses.

When she was a teenager, her father bought her a thoroughbred mare. She learned to ride and bred her mare. The resulting colt was a successful race horse. Later, she was an instructor and operator of a riding academy at her Rocky Hill farm in Millersville.

She graduated from Glen Burnie HS in 1957. In October 1962, she married Charles Bryant Boyer, and they had two daughters. In addition to training race horses, she raised lions, tigers and leopards for wildlife parks. One of the cubs she adopted as her own. She and Bryant also bred Mastiffs.

She was a member of the Maryland Trainers Association, the U.S. Pony Club, and the North and East Mastiff Dog Club.

She died of cancer which had metastasized into the bone. She was survived by her husband of 25 years, two daughters, and her two brothers.
