Obituary
Our beloved Mom, Geraldine(Jerry) Hannah Jenkins, age 89, passed away on December 16, 2020, at the Clinton Union Hospital in Clinton, Indiana. Mom was born on January 17, 1931, and raised in Pembine, Wisconsin. Mom married her childhood sweetheart, our Dad(Arnold), shortly after the end of World War II, when he returned from serving in the Navy. Mom and Dad eventually settled in St. Bernice, Indiana, where she spent the rest of her life raising her seven children and residing in the same house. Six of those children survive our mom. They are John(Margie) Jenkins of Terre Haute, Doug(Nancy) Jenkins of Shelburn, Cheryl(Terry) Smith of St. Bernice, Arnie Jenkins(Joanie) of Clinton, Charlotte(Greg) Albers of Springboro, Ohio, and Lori(Troy) Urbain of St. Bernice. Mom is also survived by eleven grandchildren: Heather Hogue(Jeff), Morgan Groover(Clint) Ryan Jenkins(Katie), Sara Jenkins, Andy Albers(Karie), Ashley Albers,Catie Cloyd(Dane), Angie Riggen(Dylan), Jacki Vandivier(Justin), Jami Morris(Keith), Jordan Urbain(Cassidy), and also twenty great-grandchildren. Mom was preceded in death by her husband Arnold and our beloved sister Gloria, who lived with her husband Kelly in Nordland, Washington, and a precious infant granddaughter Holly Smith. Mom’s lasting legacy was her fierce loyalty and the pride she exhibited in every member of the family. Being an only child herself and successfully raising seven children was her great accomplishment. Mom dearly loved all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and loved visiting with them or talking on the phone with her family on a daily basis. We will miss those visits and conversations. Funeral arrangements are pending at the Giovanni Funeral Home in Clinton, Indiana, where online condolences may be posted. Due to the COVID pandemic, a private graveside service will be conducted by the family at Helt’s Prairie Cemetery, officiated by Pastor David Duke from Sugar Grove United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to the Sugar Grove United! Methodist Church, 16362 N 2300th St., Chrisman, IL 61924
