He was born in Farmville, VA and lived in Nutley and Randolph before moving to Mt. Arlington 20 years ago. He served in the U S Air Force during the Vietnam War and later earned his BA and Master's Degrees in Business Administration from Rutgers University.
John was a CPA, Accountant, and Financial Advisor for the Schering-Plough Company in Bloomfield for many years. He was a member of Our Lady Star of The Sea RC Church in Lake Hopatcong and a former member of the Knights of Columbus chapter in Belleville.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, MaryJeanne (DeMeo) Crowley, his son Daniel James (and Kelly) Crowley of Aberdeen, and granddaughter Maggie Crowley. He also leaves his sister Marie Crowley of PA, and brother Daniel T. (and Elizabeth) Crowley of Whitehouse Station. He was predeceased by his sister Helen "Lee" Crowley in 1993.
Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com), on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from 4 to 7 pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, at Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Church in Lake Hopatcong, with the interment, with military honors, to follow at the Brig. Gen. Wm. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown at 2 p.m.
