Betty Lou Kelley Oliver 72, of Connersville passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020 after an extended illness. She was born on August 15, 1948 in Batesville to the late Clyde Kelley and Thelma Roberts Kelley.
She was a member of the Connersville First Nazarene Church, where she was the superintendent of Sunday School and sang in the choir.
On February 14, 1970 she married Woodrow “Woody” Oliver. They were able to spend 45 years together before he passed away on September 4, 2015.
Betty attended Ivy Tech Community College where she received an Associates Degree in Medical Transcription. She had worked at Philco Ford, Walmart in Customer Service, Big Wheel and at a local doctor’s office as a medical assistant.
She loved to watch birds, garden and going sightseeing. Her favorite time of year is fall. She enjoyed listening to books, watching church services online and television. Betty liked to get updated with politics. She also enjoyed doing crafts.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Tracy (fiancé, Chad Warlock) Dill and Christy (Luie Phillip) Hatfield; a grandson, Cameron Hatfield; brothers, Rev. James (Teresa) Kelley and Michael (Janice) Kelley, sisters, Marilyn (John) Price and Bonnie (Ronnie) Isaac; a sister in law, Wanda Belt Kelley; and a brother in law, Thomas Blessinger; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brothers, Joe Kelley and Ricky Kelley; a sister, Naomi Ruth Kelley Blessinger; a son in law, Casey Dill; sister in law, Rose Asbury; and nephews, Brian Bobbitt and J.W. Throop; and her mother and father in law, Joe and Creamy Oliver.
Visitation for Betty will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W. 8th St. Connersville, Indiana 47331. The funeral service will begin on Tuesday at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Jim Kelley and Rev. Randy Sherwood of First Church Nazarene. Burial will follow in Lick Creek Cemetery.
