Scott Anthony Harper, age 54, of Murfreesboro, died December 16, 2020 at Nashville VA Medical Center. Scott was born in Hammond, Indiana on October 12, 1966 to Edward and Wilma (Hudson) Harper.

He graduated from Gallatin High School in 1984 where he set the cross-country track record. It took several years for his record to be broken. He graduated in 1995 with a bachelor's degree in Science & Business Administration from Tennessee Tech University and in 2013 with a master's degree in Christian Ministry from Liberty University. A special moment of his life was walking across the stage in Lynchburg, VA after his survival of cancer three times. Scott was a veteran of the United States Army.

On September 16, 2016, Scott married his soulmate, Mary E. Jaques, who survives. He is also survived by his step daughter, Anabel Jaques; his parents, Edward & Wilma Harper of Portland; his sister, Sonja (Richard) Burton of Portland; his aunts, Judy Golden, Marilyne Stone (Dennis) and Madonna Bushey; uncles, Terry (Mary) and Jim (Ellen).

Preceded in death by (whoever Eddie & Wilma wants added). Graveside Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 19th at the historic Gallatin City Cemetery in Gallatin, TN. Visitation will be 9:00 -10:45 a.m. at Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center. *If you are planning to attend visitation or service, please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
