Goody was born July 8, 1952 in Kewanee, Illinois the son of Everett E. and Betty M. (Vandymark) Goodwin. He married Betty J. Bellar-Bigham on December 29, 2000 in Galesburg.
He is survived by his wife, just shy of 20 years, Betty of Galesburg; his three daughters, Michelle (Art) Goodwin-Young of Bartonville, Illinois, Jamie Goodwin and Jessie Goodwin both of Galesburg; his two step daughters, Tamela Kasparie and Kimberly (Stanley) Howard both of Galesburg; his step son, Billy (Michelle) May of Galesburg; his three brothers, Steve (Mary) Goodwin of Cameron, Illinois, Everett (Tracey) Goodwin and Rod Goodwin both of Galesburg; his three sisters, Cynthia Cummings of Peoria, Debbie (Al) Hubbard and Diane (Robert) Haraldson both of Galesburg; ten grandchildren; one great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He preceded in death by his parents.
Goody was a bartender for Duffy’s Tap for several years. He had worked as a roofer for Rod Griffith Construction and for the family business, Goodwin’s Market. He was known as a jokester always getting a kick out of telling people jokes. Goody had a passion for playing pool and participated in area pool leagues. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and Chicago Bears fan. Goody had a love for old western movies.
Goody’s wishes were to be cremated. A Celebration of his life will be announced at a later date when all can gather together. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
