Mr. Smith was a native of Calhoun County and a resident of Cleburne County most of his life. He attended White Plains High School. He was employed at Lee Brass before driving over 2 million miles as a truck driver. Mr. Horace loved to entertain the residents of the nursing homes.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Vera Smith; a son, Terry Smith; and two brothers, Thomas Smith and Bennie Smith Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Smith, Heflin, AL; a daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda (Danny) Lines; a son, Shane Smith; a daughter-in-law, Linda Smith; a sister and brother-in-law, Diane (Thomas) Clay; four grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 18, 2020, at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Danny Lines, officiating.
Pallbearers will be Steven Lines, Jeremy Smith, Ben Smith, Mike Smith, Wayne Roberts, Hunter Bonner, Tyrell Bishop, Barry Hudgins, and Cooper Lines.
Burial will follow in Chosea Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 17, 2020, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Dryden Funeral Home.
