Laura White, age 88, died Tuesday, December 15, 2020 in Richardson, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2020, in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney, Texas with Leroy White, officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Cemetery in Olney. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.
Laura was born on May 1, 1932 in Concho, Texas to the late Floyd Britton Landers and Mattie Ethel (Kingsley) Landers. She married Chalmer “C.L.” White on July 27, 1946 in Merkel, Texas. He preceded her in death on August 9, 1998. She was a homemaker and loved to cook. She was a cook at Cozy Corner Café and at the Carnation Café while she lived in Lubbock. Laura was a devoted Christian and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She raised two other children in her home as a babysitter. Laura moved to Olney in 1991 from Lubbock and lived in Olney for over twenty years.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Clyde Landers and J.W. Landers, and two sisters, Lavern Brown and Ada Mae Williams.
Laura is survived by her two daughters, Linda Walters and husband Eddie of Lubbock, Texas and Gail Johnson and husband Troy of Wichita Falls, Texas; one sister, Alice Faye Landers of Big Spring, Texas; seven grandchildren, Todd Walters, Tracy Otto, Tammy Hickman, Lane Cypert, Tanya Sharp, Taylor Johnson, Vic Johnson; fifteen great-grandchildren, Ashley Walters, Tabitha Hatcher, Tanner Rapp, Brandon Walters, Mersades Graham, Brenton Farmer, Bailey Hickman, Maddie Hickman, Jenna Cypert, Kayla Cypert, Sierra Cypert, Christopher Otto, Caitlyn Otto, Sam Sharp, Abby Sharp; twelve great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
