Janet Marie Adams, 73, of New Hartford, Iowa died early Wednesday morning, December 16, 2020, at the Cedar Falls Health Care Center in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Janet was born on September 26, 1947, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Wallace and Madonna (Britt) Burvee. She graduated from Columbus Catholic High School in 1965.
On April 16, 1966, Janet was united in marriage to John Gibbs Jr.; the couple later divorced.
On April 15, 1983, Janet was united in marriage to Robert Adams.
Janet is survived by three children, Julie Martin of Waterloo, Jon Gibbs of Mason City, and Justin (Andrea) Gibbs of New Hartford; seven grandchildren, Austin, Jordan, and Conner Martin, and Parker, Ashton, Jaylyn and Jacob Gibbs; three brothers, Jim (Karen) Burvee of Bella Vista, AR, Joe (Sandy) Burvee of West Des Moines, and Jeff (Peggy) Burvee of Waterloo; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Robert in 2014; a brother, John Burvee and sister-in-law, Carolyn Burvee.
Janet was a long-time member of New Hartford United Methodist Church and Alcoholics Anonymous for over 30 years.
Janet was a very kind and giving person; she would give anything to anyone in need.
She enjoyed playing cards at Ingalls Little House Cafe with the “Little House Gang,” going to the casino and bowling. Above all else, Janet loved spending time with her grandkids and attending all of their activities.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2020 with Pastor Ben Epley officiating. The location of the service is pending. The service will be livestreamed on the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial of cremains will follow in Beaver Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Social distancing and face masks are required for all services.
