On November 24, 1942, Sarah was born to Clyde and Opal York in Roswell, New Mexico.
Sarah was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-seven years, J.T. Perkins Sr; son: J.T. Perkins Jr; parents, Clyde and Opal York; son-in-law, Frank Sanchez; brother: Raymond York; sisters: Betty Lou Males and Cora Sue York.
Sarah married J.T. Perkins, they had four children, fourteen grandchildren, and twenty-three great-grandchildren; J.T. Perkins Jr. and children: Wendy, Trey, Brandie, Tara, Jacob and nine great-grandchildren; Jimmy T. Perkins and children: Ashley, Kayla, Amanda, Tiffany and five great-grandchildren, Tricia and husband John Pilley and children: Katie, Angelina, R.J. and Ashlee; Sarah Fuentes, Matthew Barreras and children: Matthew Jr., Vanessa, Violet, Joel and fiancé, Desiree Silva. Judy and Ray Zavala, Judy and Frank Sanchez and children: Frankie, Eyrekra Sanchez and son-in-law Joseph Aguilar and great-grandchildren: Eligah Mathis and London Aguilar; one living brother, Jackie and wife Peggy York.
Mom worked at Levi Strauss, Furr’s Cafeteria and Tastee Freeze for eighteen years. Sarah enjoyed working in her yard, sewing, crocheting, working on puzzles, watching documentaries on monkeys, and she especially loved to read books.
The family would like to give a special “Thank You” to Agape Homecare, Roswell Lincare and Dr. Dake and Anderson Bethany Funeral Home for their help with our mom.
