Mr. L. Alson "Al" Bohn, 95, of Waynesboro, PA passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, December 15, 2020 in the emergency room of the Waynesboro Hospital.

Born January 16, 1925 in Waynesboro, PA, the son of the late Leslie A. and Frances M. (Snyder) Bohn.

He graduated from Waynesboro High School with the Class of 1942 and later graduated from Juniata College in January 1950. He graduated in the late 60's from Northwestern University Trust School, Evanston, Illinois.

Mr. Bohn served in the United States Army, 3rd Division, during World War II. He was stationed in Africa, Anzio Beachhead in Italy, France, Germany and Salzburg, Austria.

He and his wife, the late Jeanne O. (Oyler) Bohn, were married on June 7, 1953 in Quincy, PA. Mrs. Bohn died on July 28, 2012.

Mr. Bohn started working at Citizens Bank, Waynesboro, and in 1953, began working for Hagerstown Trust Co., working as a Teller, and later as Vice President Trust Officer. He retired in January of 1990.

He was a lifelong member of Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, where he was active in the Christian Home Builders Sunday School Class. He was also a member of Acacia Lodge #586 F.& A.M., Waynesboro, Continental Commandry of Chambersburg; Joe Stickell American Legion Post #15, very active with local AARP, volunteer tax preparation, past treasurer of Waynesboro Welfare Assoc for a number of years (now Waynesboro Human Services), past treasurer of Antietam Cemetery, past treasurer of Southern District of PA Churches of the Brethren, and was a former Board member of Brethren Home in New Oxford, PA.

Mr. Bohn enjoyed collecting Lionel Trains, gardening, being very active in the community with volunteer work, and he missed very few athletic and music events of his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by four children, Nancy B. Kauffman of Waynesboro, Jefry A. Bohn and his fiancé, Cindy Jackson of Fernandina Beach, FL, Kathy B. Horning and her husband, Kim of Elizabethtown, PA, and Dale A. Bohn and his wife, Maryanne of Chambersburg; seven grandchildren: Jessica Kauffman, Nathan Kauffman, Alex Horning, Dustin Horning, Gavin Horning, Logan Bohn, and Grant Bohn; two great-grandsons, Emory Horning and Marcus Horning; one sister: Joyce Ann Markle, Millerstown, PA; three nieces and one nephew.

Gravesides services will be held privately in Quincy Cemetery, Quincy, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: The Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, 117 S. Church St., Waynesboro, PA 17268.
