He was the son of Leslie Fremont Wheeler, Sr., born on November 23, 1954. Leslie was raised by his grandpa Cortus Sanders and grandma Ruth Sanders at their home up on the hill above Cooks Lake.
Leslie graduated from Carrollton High School with the Class of 1974. He worked as a farmhand, working mainly for Barclay Staton and Gene Stiek. After moving to Carrollton, he helped Don Buzard. Leslie owned an old pickup that was his pride and joy that he kept absolutely spotless.
He has been cremated and inurnment will take place at a later date at Big Adkins Cemetery.
