He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ann Caldwell, née Vegter; mother and step-father, Anne Caldwell Monk and Roger Monk; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Chasity Caldwell; nieces, Lauren and Shelby Caldwell; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lee and Carol Vegter; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Ruth Ann Vegter, Tracy and Mike Laman, née Vegter; nieces and nephews, Tristan and Taylor Laman; uncles and aunts, Robert and Nancy Caldwell, Ken and Debbie Gunion, including his wife's aunts and uncles; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mike Caldwell.
He was of the Methodist faith. He was a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University and a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity. He loved visiting with his family and friends, loved to play golf and loved playing with his dog, Jake.
