Ruth Mildred Friedmann Burgess, 91, passed away on December 13, 2020. Born on November 24, 1929 in San Antonio, Texas to William George Friedmann and Selma Eva Klein. She Graduate of Breckenridge High School in 1947.

Employed as executive secretary to the Vice President at Lone Star Brewery and secretary to the Director of Airman and Officer Assignments, Randolph Air Force Base. She retired from Civil Service in 1989 where she was awarded the Air Force Outstanding Civilian Career Service Award for Meritorious Service. In her retirement years, Ruth and Ray moved from San Antonio to the coastal town of Rockport, Texas, where they were active members of St. Peter's Episcopal Church. They were avid volunteers at the church's Thrift Store, Castaways. Tiring of the prospect of hurricanes bearing down, they moved to Seguin, Texas, where they became active members of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. Ruth volunteered at Seguin's Guadalupe Regional Medical Center helping patients to their appointments. After Ray's passing, she moved back to San Antonio to be closer to family and to enjoy her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Because of her outgoing and volunteering nature and enjoyment of helping others, she was named as an ambassador at The Laurels Senior Living Center. She loved helping fellow residents as well as gardening, playing bingo and working crossword puzzles. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, MSgt (Ret) Raymond Dell Burgess; former husband, William Harrell (Corky) Ricks; sisters, Helen Friedmann Mueller (Alfred) and Evelyn Friedmann Psencik (Leo). Ruth is survived her children, grandchildren great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
