The spellings AENCHBACHER and AENCHBACKER are used interchangeably in local records. Reported age at time of death was 50 years, so if accurate, evidently born about 1806.

Samuel AENCHBACHER married 01 JUL 1848 to Rebecca C. OWENS. After his death, she married on 04 DEC 1863 to Peter K. EDGAR (evidently his 3rd wife).

Samuel was previously married, as he has children in his 1850 household who, like him, were born in Switzerland, prior to his marriage to Rebecca.

Mary Jane Galer's "COLUMBUS, GA: Lists of People, 1828-1852, and Sexton's Reports to 1866" (2000), p. 208, shows: Samm'l AENCHBACKER died aged 50 years of intemperance and was buried 17 DEC 1856 (from "October 1, 1856 to January 1, 1857, Sexton's Report," dated 19 JAN 1857; the sexton then was Thomas NIX).

1850 federal census of Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, Dwelling #358 / Household #387, shows: Samuel AENCHBACHER, male, 40 Switzerland, tailor; Rebecca, female, 19 GA; Gotlief [= Gottlieb, I suspect], male, 12 Switzerland; Samuel, male, 10 Switzerland; Louis, male, 9, Switzerland; Julia CASNARD, female, 23 FL; Daniel (CASNARD), male, 5 GA; Mary (CASNARD) female, 4 GA.

This grave is evidently not identifiably marked.

His widow, on the 1860 federal census of Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, Dwelling #399 / Household #399: ANCHBACKA, Rebecca/female/29/GA/no occupation/ $0 / $200; (ANCHBACKA) Lucinda/female/5/GA; OWENS, Mary A./female/15/GA; Peter EDGAR heads the household next door. (Lucinda is also in the 1870 household of her mother and step-father Peter K. EDGAR in Muscogee County, Georgia.)

Lucinda Isabella AENCHBACKER married 25 APR 1875 in Muscogee County, Georgia, to James T. BYRD.
