"Tom" Dunlap passed away unexpectedly on Saturday December 6th, at his home, in Bettendorf, Iowa. Tom was born on July 27, 1953, in Aurora, Illinois, and graduated from East Aurora High School. Tom then enlisted in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, and he proudly served from 1971-1977. Tom served aboard the USS Saratoga (CV-60) as an Aviation Maintenance Administrationman Second Class. During this time, Tom was assigned to Fighter Squadron 31 (VF-31), where he worked on F-4 Phantoms and F-14 Tomcats. Tom also spent many years working on the rail lines.

Tom eventually moved to Iowa, but kept in close contact with friends in Aurora. He began to work at LeClaire Manufacturing Co. in 1996. Tom served as safety director for the last years his time at LeClaire, until his recent retirement. Tom then found more time to pursue his hobbies of photography and model train building.

Tom is preceded in death by his beloved mother Dorothy and brother James, both of Aurora, IL. Tom leaves behind his brother Ron in Illinois, as well as, sister Sharon (Smith) and father James, both in Florida. Tom also leaves behind nieces and nephews: Larry Jr., Roberta, Shannon, Michelle, Katie and Jon.

Tom will be laid to rest at the Rock Island National Cemetery in Rock Island, Illinois.
