She was born on August 11, 1933.
Jean was a Life Member of Centerville Baptist Church and a long-time member of the Lumberton Eastern Star, where she served as Worthy Matron. Jean enjoyed traveling, square dancing, and gardening. She was active in several businesses during her life in Lumberton and was well thought of by those she worked with and knew her. Jean was a resident of Myrtle Beach Manor in her closing years and enjoyed their compassionate and protective care.
Her passing diminishes mankind. She was a good mother and wife, a good friend, and an active and successful member of her community.
Jean was predeceased by her loving husband, Furney Lamb; her parents, Sallie Leigh Leggett-Wilkerson and Wakefield Wilkerson; her brothers, Isham Wilkerson and Jimmy Wilkerson; and her sister, Anne J. Wilkerson.
She is survived by her son, 1st Sgt.(Ret.) Jamie Lamb and his wife Kathy of Lumberton; her daughter, Karen L. Tucker and her husband Thomas of the Florida Keys; a sister, Margie Moore and husband Lloyd of Naples, FL; her brother, Bobby Wilkerson and his wife Carolyn of Lumberton, NC; two grandchildren, Jamison Lamb and Johnathan Lamb, both of San Antonio TX; and three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside ceremony, conducted by Rev. Ed Wilcox, will be held on December 18, 2020, at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton, NC.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association online or by mail to: National Processing Center, Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC, 20090-6011, is appreciated by the family.
