Dorothy Mae Peterson, life-long resident of Taney County, was born May 14, 1932 in Mildred, Missouri. She was the daughter of Harvey and Bertha Brittain. She married Dale Peterson August 5, 1955. Along with being wife and mother, Dorothy worked as a dispatcher with the Taney County Sheriff's Department. She was a talented artist and loved painting. She also enjoyed time in her garden growing vegetables and flowers.

Dorothy entered into rest on December 11, 2020 at Forsyth Nursing and Rehab at the age of 88.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dale Peterson, son David Peterson and two sisters, Mary and Edna.

She is survived by her son, Mark Peterson of Forsyth, Missouri.

Dorothy will be laid to rest in Brittain Cemetery next to her husband Dale and memorial services will be held at a later date.
