Roy Lee West, age 86, of Pounding Mill, VA passed away Monday, December 14, 2020 in Elizabethton, TN. He was born August 31, 1934 and was the son of the late William and Hazel Wriston West.
Roy was a 1952 Richlands High School graduate. He was a US Army Veteran serving in Germany. He retired from Kerns Bakery. He enjoyed fishing and sitting on his swing on the front porch. He fought a good fight. He kept the faith. Great shall be his reward.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 63 years, Faye West; one son, Greg West and wife Martha of Gray, TN; one daughter, Gina Brown and husband Jody of Claypool Hill, VA; two sisters, Jackie Vencill of Richlands, VA and Joanne Powers and husband Eddie of Bristol, VA; two grandchildren, Sydney Nicholas and husband Chris and Hudson Brown; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by Casey-Short VFW Post 9640 at Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Claypool Hill, VA. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the services will be for immediate family only.
