Mr. Ronnie Leroy Thomas, Sr., was born to the late Homer Knight and Betty Thomas Scott on October 9, 1956, in Brunswick, GA.

He was educated in the Glynn County School System and a graduate of Brunswick High School. Following high school, Ronnie was employed with Glynn County Public Works for several years. In 1986, Ronnie relocated to Connecticut. While in Connecticut, his life thrived as a dedicated employee of Advance Nursing and Rehab in Hartford, CT, for 30 years.

Ronnie loved to fish and barbeque, as he was known as the ‘grill master’ of the family. In 2013, Ronnie returned to Brunswick, GA. He became a member of Greater Hall Temple COGIC under the leadership of the late Superintendent G. Bobby Hall. Ronnie was a faithful member until his health declined. Ronnie was called to rest on December 14, 2020.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his father, Homer Knight, his wife, Katherine Brown-Thomas, and his brother, Anthony Scott.

Ronnie Leroy Thomas, Sr., leaves to cherish his memories: two sons: Ronnie Leroy (Charlene) Thomas, Jr., and Victor LaShawn (Sherrita) Thomas, both of Titusville, FL; Mother, Betty Jean Scott of Brunswick, GA; three brothers: Marcus (Terri) Scott of Brunswick, GA, Roland Scott III of Brunswick, GA, and Homer Lee of Northport VA; four sisters: Monica (Bernard) Woodard of Brunswick, GA, Chanda (Henry) Love of Atlanta, GA, Gwendolyn Lawrence and Paula Knight of Brunswick, GA; grandchildren: Ro’lexus, Ronnia, Kevin and Ashanti; Aunt Alvenia (Sylvester) Turner of Warner Robins, GA; several nieces and nephew; and a host of loving cousins, friends, and a dedicated and devoted longtime companion, Arlene Downs.
