Pioneer Woman Resident Dies at Age of 74
Mrs. Lucy A. Mack, widow of the late M. H. Mack, died yesterday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Walter H. Hunt. The deceased was 74 years old and was one of the early settlers of Greene county, coming here in 1853 from Richmond, VA.
She is survived by six children--A. O. Mack, Mrs. W. H. Hunt, C. B. Mack, C. E. Mack of Springfield; Mrs. J. E. Wright of McPherson, Kan., and C. A. Mack of St. Louis, besides twenty-four grand children and four great grand children.
She is also survived by four brothers and one sister--Julian Herndon, James Herndon and Joseph Herndon of Nixa, Mo., J. D. Herndon of Dallas, Texas, and Mrs. Jane Edwards of Sherman, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at the home of Walter H. Hunt on the corner of the Bolivar road and Talmage street at 2:30 this afternoon, with interment at Hazelwood cemetery. Friend and asquaintances(sic) are invited.
