Judy grew up in Denver and married her husband, Roger W. Carlson, December 19, 1965. They traveled in the military for over 20 years living in different states across the U.S., and Germany, until Roger retired in Colorado Springs in 1984. Judy was the owner of Pyramid Publications in Colorado Springs from 1984-1999, and was an active volunteer and contributor for the Healing Images Artfest, survivors of sexual trauma. She enjoyed writing stories and sharing expressive healing through creative forms of art. A favorite pastime was to bring joy to residents of nursing homes by visiting them with her therapy dog, Sundance. She was a member of Grace First Church.
