Mr. Herman N. Jones, Jr., 85, of 1406 Jackson Street, Staunton, VA, entered eternal rest on November 30, 2020 at Augusta Health in Staunton. He was the only child born July 24, 1935 in Harriston, VA, to the late Herman Sr. and Isabell Jones.
He attended and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Staunton, VA. Herman accepted Christ at an early age. He joined and attended the Mt. Sidney United Methodist Church in Mt. Sidney, VA, until it’s closing.
On December 14, 1957, he married Esquewie Barber and to this union three children were born. Herman retired from the American Safety Razor (ASR), in Verona, VA, after 35 plus years of services. He also served his community as a License Electrician. Herman owned and operated Jones & Woods Electrical, LLC., for many years.
Herman leaves to cherish precious memories: his wife, Esquewie Jones of Staunton, VA; daughters, Deirdre Jones and Melanie Jones both of Staunton, VA; son, Terence Jones of Decatur, AL; four grandchildren, Jonathan Jones (Hayley) and Terence Jones both of Decatur, AL, Teorrance Mack and Trevor Veney both of Staunton, VA; great-grandchildren, Karmen Morales, Cheyenne Richardson and Alontrae Veney all of Staunton, VA, Silas, Shephard, Zeke, and Eli Jones all of Decatur, AL, Jace and Imeir Veney both of Staunton, VA; a host of adopted grandchildren, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Mt. Salem Baptist Church, 1015 Stuart Street, Staunton, VA, the Rev. Dr. Floyd A. Miles, Pastor, eulogist. The interment to follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Viewing for Mr. Jones will be held one hour prior to the funeral services at the church.
