Mr. Wayne Robert Scott passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 10, 2020. He was born June 12, 1944 to Ardell and Sarah Scott. He graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1964 and the University of the District of Columbia in 1975 with a B.S. in Economics.

Robert was a member of the Dragons Social Club in high school. He was a former employee of Brown and Williamson Tobacco, Inc., and he went on to work as a sales agent in the insurance industry in Washington, DC.

Robert loved to express his views through the Progress-Index Editorials and FaceBook. He was an avid fan and loved the Washington Football Team. Robert was a member of Greater Faith A.M.E. Zion Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ardell Scott, Sr. and Sarah J. Scott. Robert's family members remaining with fond memories: his daughter, Mia Kimberly Scott; sisters and brothers, Cecilia S. Lee (Vernon Sr.), William Scott (Patricia), Deborah S. McKensie and Ardell Scott, Jr.; treasured and beloved friend, Mary Alice Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other close relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held 12:00 Noon, Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Dinwiddie Memorial Park, 7324 Church Road, North Dinwiddie, VA, the Rev. Vernon S. Lee, eulogist and Rev. Randy Kiah, officiating.
