She married Jon Dickson; he preceded her in death in 1998.
Deloris worked 60 years as a custodian for Jennings County School Corporation before retiring in 2019. She enjoyed playing bingo, traveling, going to the boat and consignment shops, and taking rides in the country.
She is survived by her son, Bobby Clements of Crothersville, her daughters, Carol (Larry) Hayden of Madison, Barbara (Andy) Ruh of Hayden, Patricia (Eugene) Begley of Crothersville, Mary Ellen (Raymond) Derringer of Commiskey and Linda Sue Barnes of North Vernon; brother, Joseph (Donna) Rockey of Dayton, Ohio; sisters, Marilyn “Wig” Brown, Edna (Raymond) Ernstes and Wilma (Bill) Grider, all of North Vernon; seventeen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; and thirty-one great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; infant son; brothers, Robert “Bob”, Paul “Dick” and John Rockey Jr.; sisters, Ruth Marksberry and Shirley “Duck” Poole.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at the Rudicel Event Center in North Vernon with the Rev. Sherman Beville and Bro. Joseph Rockey officiating. Family and friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in North Vernon.
