Mr. David Calvin “Buck” McConnell, Sr. 69, husband of Joyce Cherry McConnell, passed away Saturday December 12, 2020 at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Graham Funeral Home. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.

Born October 7, 1951 in Georgetown, he was a son of the late John Calvin McConnell and the late Frances Walstrom McConnell. Mr. McConnell was a retired plumber that worked in the Georgetown area for many years. He was a family man that loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchild dearly. He had a big heart and enjoyed spending time with friends and family and going to church. In his spare time, he liked to fish and watch old westerns.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 50 years are, two daughters, Jackie McConnell Howard and her husband, Rickey of Georgetown, Lorie McConnell Altman and her husband Jason of Georgetown; one son, David Calvin McConnell, Jr. and his wife Crystal of Hemmingway; Six grandchildren, Christopher Howard and his wife Chelsea of Georgetown, Joshua Altman of Georgetown, Christina Thomas and her husband Cody of Georgetown, Brandon Altman of Georgetown, Dylan McConnell of Hemingway, and Trentin McConnell of Hemingway; one great-grandson, Fletcher James Howard of Georgetown; five sisters, Barbara Cribb of Georgetown, Frances Kohn and her husband, Howard of Georgetown, Diane Rodgers and her husband Sammie of Georgetown, Joyce Ann Barnhill of Georgetown, and Donna Kay Shuler and her husband C.L. of Georgetown; seven brothers, Roland Lambert and his wife Connie of Georgetown [NB: Roland is a half brother], Roy McConnell of Georgetown, Woody McConnell and his wife Darlene of Georgetown, Marvin McConnell of Georgetown, and Bobby Joe McConnell and his wife Monica of Georgetown and Dale McConnell of Monk’s Corner; two sister in laws, Rose McConnell of Georgia, and Luciene McConnell of Georgetown; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. McConnell was predeceased by two brothers, John Edward McConnell and Harry McConnell.
