Carolyn Locke Wood, 85, of Magnolia, AR 71753 passed away Friday, December 11, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.
Carolyn was born on December 8, 1935 in Hope, AR to the late Walter Echols Locke, Sr., and Birdie Rhea (Jones) Locke. She was a lifelong member of the Central Baptist Church and was active in the Rebuilders Sunday school class. She was a member of the Newcomers’ Club, various Bridge Clubs, former member of the Magnolia Jr. Charity League, and organizer of the MHS 50+ Reunion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Richard Echols Wood, brothers Richard “Dick” McDaniel and Walter “Echols” Locke, Jr., and sister in law Catherine Locke. Carolyn is survived by her husband of 67 years Kelley Dale Wood of Magnolia; son Wally Wood and wife Jacque of Magnolia; daughter Kelli McDaniel and husband Jack of Madison, MS; grandchildren Walt Wood, Will Wood, and Mandy Gray and husband David of Magnolia, Devon McDaniel of Brooklyn, NY, Meryl McDaniel of Boston, MA, Quinn McDaniel of Oxford, MS, and Luke McDaniel of Madison, MS; great grandchildren Brycen Gray and Anna Gray of Magnolia.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 12:30 pm. with a graveside to follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Hope, AR with Dr. Mike Seabaugh officiating under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia. Signing of the guest book and viewing will be Tuesday, December 15 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews, Walt Wood, Will Wood, David Gray, Quinn McDaniel, Luke McDaniel, Russell McDaniel, Richard McDaniel, Pat Locke, and Steve Locke.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the MHS 50+ Reunion Scholarship Fund, c/o SAU Foundation, PO Box 9174, Magnolia, AR 71754, or Central Baptist Church, 207 West Union, Magnolia, AR 71753.
