Mr. David C. Brewington, age 61, husband of Tammie Abee Brewington of 511 Toluca St., passed away Monday, December 14, 2020 at his home.

Mr. Brewington was born January 18, 1959 in Union, a son of the late Fred H. Brewington and Willie Lawson Brewington. He was a 1977 graduate of Union High School where he played baseball. Mr. Brewington retired as a Sargent from the City of Union Public Safety Department. After his retirement, David spent his time with his four grandsons either at school or on a baseball field. He was an avid Clemson Tiger and Union Yellow Jacket Fan. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family and being a part of the Fat Sam’s Breakfast Club and the Candy Shop Clemson Tiger Group.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Heather B. Gregory and husband Dean and Ashley B. Harrold all of Union; a sister, Becky Moss and husband Donald Ray of Union; four grandsons, D.J. and Lydge Gregory and Easton and Billy Cash Harrold; his mother-in-law, Carolyn Abee; a brother-in-law, Johnny Abee and wife Cynthia; his nieces and nephews, Tracy Owens and husband Jeff, Tami Gilbert and husband David, Tiffany Smith and husband David, Jennifer Arrington and husband Trey, Daniel Abee and wife SarahKate, and Matthew Abee and wife Betsy; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his father-in-law, Billy Abee.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Ron Culbertson and Rev. Scott Cobb.

Active pallbearers will be Daniel Abee, Matthew Abee, Trey Arrington, Zach Owens, Brennen Owens, Spencer Owens, Austin Gilbert, and Devin Gilbert. The following are asked to form the honorary escort, Steve Trammel, Scotty Brewington, Kevin Montgomery, Barry Haney, Toney Keisler, David “Tubo” Owens, Al Griffin, AJ Griffin, Freddie Griffin, Benny Gibson, Roger Harris, Shawn Haney, Leon Lancaster, Kenny Lominack and Harrison, Katie and Kyle Ford, past and present officers and staff of the City of Union Public Safety Department and the Candy Shop Clemson Tiger Group.

Visitation will be immediately following the services at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Union County Dixie Youth and Boys Baseball, P.O. Box 184, Union, SC 29379.
