Obituary

Allan Eastman Bristol, 79, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 14, 2003. He was born in Springfield, MA., on Sept. 13, 1923, to Allen Eliphalet and Muriel (Eastman) Bristol. He was the third child of five. His brother Charles, and sisters Joyce and Grace predeceased him.

'Al', as he was known, was very much a people person, and much of the work he did over the years reflected the fact that he loved to interact with others. In Westfield, MA., Al and his wife founded a Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. He deliverd bakery goods, and potato chips, and was in shoe sales. Al was also a shoe store manager in Nyack, NY for Endicott Johnson. In Ft. Myers, FL he delivered milk for Hart's Dairy, worked for Sims Drug Store, and was the first bus driver hired when the Lee Tran bus system began. When he was no longer able to work, he still showed his kindness and patience to his wife and daughter who were unable to drive, by being 'Dad's Taxi'. Wherever they needed to go. he would take them and wait, even if it meant to college for the whole day. He would sit and talk with folks around and enjoy getting to know them and joking with them. His jovial and fun loving presence will be missed. 'To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord.' II Corinthians 5:8.

He leaves his devoted wife of 46 years, Grace (Lang) Bristol. He is survived by his children; Allan David (Lynn) Bristol and Kerry Grace Bristol; grandchildren; Taylor Nicole Bristol, and Daniel Allan Bristol; step-grandchildren; Shawn Tyler Chase, and Eric Trevor Chase; unoffical grandchildren; Nathan George, and Jonathan George; sister; Geraldine Muriel (George) Chilton; sister-in-laws; Ruth Fordham Lang, Ruth H. Lang, and Fran Curran; brother-in-law; Earl Dandy; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the Christ Community Church, 4050 Colonial Blvd., Ft. Myers, FL., Sunday, August 3, at 12:15 PM following morning worship service which begins at 10:45 AM.
