Barnes Sr., Garry F. "Poppy", passed away, Sunday, December 13, 2020. Cherished husband of Brenda G. Barnes (nee Haggard). Loving Poppy to Chris (Brian) Martin, Elesha (Tim) Allen, Zachary (Tiffani) and Briana Martin; Kailey (Reid Newton), Logan and Olivia Allen; Great Poppy to Gracelynn, Naomie, Delilah, Zayne, Star and Piper. Father of Christie Barnes, Garry (Hayley) Barnes Jr. and Jaime (David) McDermott. Grandfather of Brad and Jacob Cluck; Isaac, Drew and Grace Barnes and Savannah McDermott. Brother, brother in law, uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Services: Visitation at the FAMILY CENTER at SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin, Wednesday 5-8 p.m. Interment PRIVATE. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Disabled Veterans Association. Friends may sign the family's on-line guestbook at Schrader.com.
NOTE: Due to the current gathering restrictions, a maximum of 25 people are allowed in the visitation room at time and a maximum of 25 people may be in the chapel for the service. A maximum of 10 people may be present at the interment. Face masks required and social distancing guidelines apply.
Gary served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam War earning the rank of E5
E5 was the same as Petty Officer 3 Class (PO3)
Gary was well known as Santa's helper, serving as a Shopping mall Santa during Christmas seasons.
