He was born in Geneva, N.Y., the son of Kenneth D. and Ethel Mae Markel Carroll.
Mr. Carroll was owner and operator of Herbert Georg Studio since 1963. He was a member of Cathedral Church of St. Paul, Tyrian Lodge 333 AF&AM, Springfield Consistory, Ansar Temple, American Legion Post 32, and BPOE 158.
Survivors: wife, Lila L. Carroll of Springfield; and a daughter, Bette Miller of Willow Springs.
Services: Bisch and Son Funeral Home, the Rev. Martha Bradley officiating. Burial: Oak Ridge Cemetery.
