Wayne worked in the maintenance department at Penn Brass and Copper for over 30 years. After the shop closed, he started working at the General McLane High School as a Custodian until his retirement in 1993. He was a wonderful man with a kind heart that everyone loved.
Wayne loved hunting, watching baseball, and gardening, which he spent many hours on each year. He was also a member of the local Odd Fellows organization.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley Lewis in 2006; four brothers, Norman (Kenneth), Donald, Theodore (Sam) and Paul Lewis; six sisters, Helen Fiesler, Elsie Huya, Hazel Finegan-Stuck, Elma Corder, Irene (Arlene) Campbell and Velma Baldwin.
Survivors include three sons, Wayne Lewis, Jr. of Florida, Gary Lewis and his wife, Cheryl, of Edinboro and Mike Lewis, also of Edinboro; a daughter, Tammy Lewis of Kentucky and a sister, Mary Jane Ball of Buffalo, NY; four grandchildren, Heather (John) Shaffer, Kyle (Victoria) Lewis, Craig (Beth) Lewis and Kelly (Joe) Gross; six great-grandchildren, Sadie Shaffer, Xavier and Rhiannon Lewis, Elliot Lewis, Annie and Jack Gross and two step great grandchildren, Dimitri Caron and Hunter Miller.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 from 10 to 11 a.m. A short service will be held there at 11:00 a.m.
