Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2020 at the Victory Baptist Church in Bassfield for Candace "Candy" Dawn Smith, 33 of Bassfield, who passed away on Monday, January 6, 2020 at the St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson.

Reverend Charles Broome and Reverend Jim Robertson will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Victory Baptist Church Cemetery in Bassfield. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2020 at the Victory Baptist Church on Williamsburg Road in Bassfield.

Pallbearers will be the Victory Baptist Church deacons.

Mrs. Candace was born on March 25, 1986 in Jackson, Mississippi. She was a loving mother, daughter, grand-daughter and sister. She was member of Crossgate Baptist Church in Brandon, Mississippi.

She was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Charles Harvey.

Survivors include her loving mother, Missy Vanderford; father, Steve Byrd and his wife Janet; two children, Bailey Smith and Peyton Smith; maternal grandmother, Bobbie Harvey; paternal grandparents, Glen and Joanne Byrd; four siblings, Austin Byrd, Elizabeth Byrd, Cody Vanderford, Cory Vanderford; and a host of uncles, aunts, and other family members.
