Kathryn Reed of Fairfield Twp. passed away suddenly Sunday December 13, 2020 in Inspira Medical Center, Vineland. She was 73 years old. Born in Bridgeton, she was the daughter of the late Clarence O. and Frances Hughes Custis, and the wife of Isaac Edward Reed. She was a lifelong area resident.
Kathryn was a long time member of Trinity AME Church, Gouldtown where she served as a Missionary, Stewardess and Usher, and was a member of the Hospitality Committee. She was also a member of the Alice S. Felts Organization. She worked at one time for the Fairton School District, Test City Early Childhood, and at a day care in Millville. She worked for several years, until her retirement, with Prudential Insurance Company in Millville as a Check Control Clerk. She enjoyed painting and bowling, but mostly she loved her time spent with family.
She is survived by her husband, Ed, of 56 years, her daughter, Karen Hickman and her husband Derwin, her son, David Reed, and several nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Clarence Alvin Custis.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Friday December 18, 2020 at 11:00 am from the Sray-Webster Funeral Home, 62 Landis Ave. at Carll's Corner, Upper Deerfield Twp. A visitation will be from 9:00 till 11:00 am prior to the services. Interment will take place in Fernwood Memorial Park, Hopewell Twp.. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Kathryn be sent to: Trinity A.M.E. Sunday School, 1107 Bridgeton Millville Pike, Bridgeton, NJ 08302.
