Katie, age 99, was the daughter of Harland and Mary Wells. She married Clarence Jewell "Tommy" Thompson on May 10, 1939, in Smith Center. They opened the Roller Dome Skating Rink on June 6, 1946, along with his brother, Don Thompson, and Thompson Brothers Welding Supply in the front of the Roller Dome in 1948.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her siblings, Andrew, David, Laurie, George, Elizabeth, Martha, and twin brothers, Jim and John. She is survived by her children, Tommy Thompson, Ricky Thompson, Nicky Thompson, and Sondra McGuire, 9 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
A private family service was held at the First United Methodist Church in Coffeyville.
