Toni Diane Ward, 71, of Burkburnett, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020.
The family will receive friends between 6 and 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Burkburnett. Private family service will be held at Burkburnett Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Burkburnett.
Toni was born on March 10, 1949 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Edd and Inez (Day) Elliott. Raised in Burkburnett, Toni was a 1966 graduate of Burkburnett High School. She later attended Cook County Jr. College in Gainesville and graduated from Vernon College as an LVN.
In 1968, she married the love of her life, Russell Ward who was stationed at SAFB. Toni worked for Henrys Bakery in Burkburnett and as Activity Director and Medication Aide at Hickory Elm Nursing Home in Burkburnett. After receiving her LVN license, Toni went to work at Wichita General Hospital, retiring after 25 years, and officially retired in 2015 from Evergreen Nursing Home in Burkburnett.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edd and Inez Elliott; and her sister, Maureem Hall.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Russell Ward; her children, Scott Ward and wife Dawn of Lubbock, Robin Simms and husband Chris of Elgin, Oklahoma, and Mandi Roe of Burkburnett; her grandchildren, Jordan Simms, Meagan Nixon, and Taylor Nixon; her great-granddaughter, Kylah Venerable; her brothers, Larry Elliott and wife Mimi of Dallas, and Donald "Man" Elliott and wife Charlotte of Burkburnett.
