ROCKY MOUNT Nancy Cooper Langley, age 88, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2020. Born in Nash County, NC on August 29, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Dewey Lee Cooper and Sarah Lillian Cooper. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Albert Jason Langley; her three brothers, Dewey Lee, Jr., James McLean, and Garland Wayne Cooper; and two sisters, Aileen Cooper Williams and Betty Lou Cooper Joyner.
A woman of tremendous faith and love for God, Nancy was a charter member of Northside Community Church where she enjoyed fellowship for many years. She felt blessed throughout her life for her family and the many blessings she incurred. A country girl at heart, Nancy learned early on in life how to cook, and a fabulous cook she became, especially when it came to her fried chicken, potato salad, and vegetable soup. Blessed with a warming spirit and personality, she was one to always make everyone feel welcomed and at home. A loving and nurturing mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, a caring sister and friend to many, Nancy's imprint on those around her will forever live on.
Nancy is survived by her daughters, Linda Langley Vuncannon and her husband, Junior, of Asheboro, and Sandra Langley Watson and her husband, Skip, of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Jason Watson and his wife Jenifer, Katie Murchison Clark and her husband Justin, David Watson and his wife Jillian, Ben Murchison and his fiance Alison Yurcak, and Sarah Watson Powell and her husband Mark; great-grandchildren, Tucker, Massey, and Finn Watson, River and Stratton Watson, and Caroline and Walter Powell; her sister, Judy Cooper Cockrell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Bennett Carlton Cockrell and Pastor Mark Pridgen officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
