Michael Gates passed from this life on November 29, 2020, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was a husband, father, grandfather, friend, and a veteran of the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years Lucy Gates; daughters Stacy (Cory) Guthrie, Jackie (Eric) Richards and Shanna Del Rio; step-daughter Barbara Bridges; step-son Chuck Cook; grandchildren Serenity Pond, Michael Cook-Gates; Ryan and Carson Guthrie; Alyssa and Robert Richards; and sister Elizabeth (Wes) Erickson and brother Gary (LaRue) Gates; and, many well-loved nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his mother, Monta (Hal) Syverson, and by his father Weldon "Buzz" (Carol) Gates.
An honor service at the Veterans Cemetary is tentatively planned for January 8, 2021.
